You Are Blessed If You Are Loved

It's midnight. And it is raining cats and dogs since morning. Just the sound of the rain water hitting the window panes and the street dogs crying can be heard.

Jane is alone at home, sitting on the couch, taking another sip at the coffee. She is watching a beautiful movie on television, the DVD of which her best friend gave her  yesterday.

Suddenly the doorbell rings. She put down the remote, and walk towards the door. What a surprise! It's Harry, her best friend. Just then it thundered.

"I'm so happy to see you Harry!" Harry gave her the flowers that he had brought for her. "Aww! Thanks a ton baby. Sit on the couch here and lemme get you a cuppa coffee!" He  does just that. He sat on the couch and saw that Jane was watching his favorite movie. He had a strange smile on his face. But Jane ignored it and went to make the coffee.

After one hour ... Both of them, still watching the movie. "So how was your day Harry?" He said nothing. "Harry?" ... still silence. "Harry! I'm asking you something." Again it thundered.

"Jane, I have to leave this city." ... Jane got the shock of her life. "What! But why?" ... Again silence.  "Harry! WTF! Why do you have to leave. Answer me" ... Still silence. "Jane, I have to go somewhere far, very far."

Just then the telephone rings. "You stay right here Harry and don't you dare move! You have to answer me." ... She goes to answer the phone which is in the other room. She picks up the phone. There's a lady on the other side. Something's wrong. She's weeping and crying miserably. She realizes  it was Harry's mother. "What happened aunt Mary? What's wrong? Why are you crying?"

"Jane, it's ... it's Harry." ... Uncle Robert, Harry's father takes the phone from his mother. "He's no longer with us Jane. He had a very unfortunate accident today evening around 10.48 pm. We brought him to the hospital but they declared him dead ... Darling ... be strong! I know how you're feeling right now sweetheart. He was your best friend but no one can do anything against God's will. My heart cries as I talk to you. I ... I cannot speak. But I had to give this message to you. You were his best friend.

Jane is like a frozen pillar of salt. She drops the phone and runs to the hall room. It's empty. No one is there. The fan's moving. The dim lights still on. The television still playing that movie. But it's stuck on the part where the hero dies in his lover's arms.

She saw the flowers which Harry had brought and was kept on the table. There's a note in it.

"Jane, I just wanted to say I love you. I always did. Somehow I couldn't tell that to you. Today I wanted to tell that to you. But fate had something else in mind. Where I am now is not a very good place but I can always see you from here. So it's enough for me. Take care my lovely. God bless you"

A drop of tear fell in the note. Jane took the note and pressed it against her heart, tightly closed her eyes and then opened. It was all still the same. No, it wasn't a dream.

It was just an alternate reality of life.

Life Is A Song Of Love

Life is a song of love
Sung by a dove above
Every heart has to sing along with it

Life is a also a sea of sorrow
Filled with tears which we borrow
Every heart has to laugh and go beyond it

Life is a strange feeling
Life is an enormous healing
A broken heart has to hope through it

Life is a vast exile
One after another mile
Every heart has to live through it

When life is disloyal
And pain becomes royal
Don't you fall and quit it

If your own people are against you
And the distant music makes you feel blue
Every heart still has to dance to it

Life is a beautiful smile
Pain's an identity for a while
Give thanks, embrace and love it

Life is our guest
Just here to take some rest
Soon it will take you along with it

Thorns Within My Care

I never quite understood
This thought which crushes my bone
That dreams are made of glass
And the world ... Of stone.

Only desolate & lonely I sail
Life ... Where has it brought me
I've tasted fail ... So now I wail
I've lost the trail of my destiny

When I expected ... This is what I got
That also shadows were brought ... By the light
The shadows were deep ... The light was not
With my own cursed self ... I lose but still I fight

I'm a merchant my friend ... A merchant of dreams
But now I only carry dreams shattered
The flower shops refuse to buy ... As it seems
These are only thorns which I have scattered

Now what can I sell ...
And now what can I share
I only have a burden of thorns
Thorns ... Within my care

Guidance

When I meditated on the word GUIDANCE, I kept seeing “dance” at the end of the word.

I remember reading that doing God’s will is a lot like dancing.

When two people try to lead, nothing feels right. The movement doesn’t flow with the music, and everything is quite uncomfortable and jerky.

When one person realizes that and lets the other lead, both bodies begin to flow with the music. One gives gentle cues, perhaps with a nudge to the back or by pressing lightly in one direction or another.

It’s as if two become one body, moving beautifully. The dance takes surrender, willingness and attentiveness from one person and gentle guidance and skill from the other.

My eyes drew back to the word "GUIDANCE".

When I saw “G”; I thought of God, followed by “U” and “I”. “GOD”, “U” and “I” , "DANCE”! God, you and I dance! GUIDANCE!

As I lowered my head, I became willing to trust that I would get guidance about my life.

Once again, I became willing to let God lead. My prayer for you today is that God’s blessings and mercies be upon you on this day and everyday. May you abide in God as God abides in you. Dance together with God, trusting Him to lead and guide you through each season of your life.

I hope you DANCE!

PS: This is not my work. I've just quoted it from a certain source.

The Most Important Part Of The Body

Sharing something I read today ...

My mother used to ask me what is the most important part of the body.

Through the years I would take a guess at what I thought was the correct answer. When I was younger, I thought sound was very important to us as humans, so I said, "My ears, Mommy." She said, "No. Many people are deaf. But you keep thinking about it and I will ask you again soon."

Several years passed before she asked me again. Since making my first attempt, I had contemplated the correct answer. So this time I told her, "Mommy, sight is very important to everybody, so it must be our eyes." She looked at me and told me, "You are learning fast, but the answer is not correct because there are many people who are blind."

Stumped again, I continued my quest for knowledge and over the years, Mother asked me a couple more times and always her answer was, "No. But you are getting smarter every year, my child."

Then last year, my grandpa died. Everybody was hurt. Everybody was crying. Even my father cried. I remember that especially because it was only the second time I saw him cry. My Mom looked at me when it was our turn to say our final goodbye to Grandpa.

She asked me, "Do you know the most important body part yet, my dear?" I was shocked when she asked me this now. I always thought this was a game between her and me. She saw the confusion on my face and told me, "This question is very important. It shows that you have really lived in our life. For every body part you gave me in the past, I have told you were wrong and I have given you an example why. But today is the day you need to learn this important lesson." She looked down at me as only a mother can. I saw her eyes well up with tears. She said, "My dear, the most important body part is your shoulder." I asked, "Is it because it holds up my head?" She replied, "No, it is because it can hold the head of a friend or a loved one when they cry. Everybody needs a shoulder to cry on sometime in life, my dear. I only hope that you have enough love and friends that you will always have a shoulder to cry on when you need it." Then and there I knew the most important body part is not a selfish one . It is sympathetic to the pain of others.

When You Thought I Wasn't Looking

(Written by a child)

A message every adult should read, because children are watching you and doing as you do, not as you say.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator, and I immediately wanted to paint another one.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you feed a stray cat, and I learned that it was good to be kind to animals.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make my favorite cake for me and I learned that the little things can be the special things in life.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make a meal and take it to a friend who was sick, and I learned that we all have to help take care of each other.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you give of your time and money to help people who had nothing and I learned that those who have something should give to those who don't.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you take care of our house and everyone in it and I learned we have to take care of what we are given.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw how you handled your responsibilities, even when you didn't feel good and I learned that I would have to be responsible when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw tears come from your eyes and I learned that sometimes things hurt, but it's all right to cry.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw that you cared and I wanted to be everything that I could be.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I learned most of life's lessons that I need to know to be a good and productive person when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I looked at you and wanted to say, "Thanks for all the things I saw when you thought I wasn't looking."

I'm posting this because so many of you do so much for others and think no one ever sees.

Little eyes see a lot!

Each of us (teen, youngster, parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, teacher or friend) influence the life of a child.

How will you touch the life of someone today?

Pleasure Over Pain

Hate and pain sell every day
So hip and in you’ll beg to pay
Suicide, cuts and burns,
Lonely hearts making deeper wounds
Savage bastards who think they rule
Twisted logic drips and pools.
Teaching us to blame and kill
Another group who fit the bill
And if that offer gets passed by
Then hurt yourself, cut and cry
Bleed the pain from in your soul
Hide down deeper in your hole.

But why not give peace a chance
And love and song, a merry dance?
Why not stroke where once you cut
A pleasure feast will cure your rut
I’m not trying to dismiss your pain
I know that life can be a strain
But here’s the thing that I have learned
Pain and hurt need not be earned
They’ll come around any way
Some go quick while others stay
So write and paint and touch to heal
Hedonism has a better feel.
